H：There they are.Look over there.（Pointing）The lady in black coat is Miss.Lou. B：Yes.They've found us,too.

(They walk towards Miss Lou and Miss Sang)

H：It's so nice to see you again,Miss.Lou L：Well,it's a real pleasure to be back in China and meet an old friend like you. H：It seems so long since we last met in San Francisco.Now,may I introduce you to Miss.Bai,the assistant manager of our company? B：How do you do,Miss Lou.

L：How do you do.I suppose you haven't met Miss Sang,my assistant. S：Nice to meet you,Miss Huang. H：Me,too. S：Nice to meet you ,Miss Bai. B：Welcome to China,Miss Sang. H：Have you ever been to Ningbo? S：Never.It's my first visit here. L：Oh.It's a pity.I have been to Ningbo several times,and find it is a beautiful city.

H：Yes,it's charming and I believe that you will fall in love with this city these days. (Miss Huang take a look at her watch) H：I have a meeting at 2 o'clock.Miss Bai will take you to the hotel and help you settle down. L：Thank you again for taking the time to meet us,Miss Huang.

B:：Well,is your baggage all here? L：Yes,I think so.

B：OK.For a minute,please.I will drive the car here and put the baggage in the van.

(Put the baggage in the car.)

S：How far away are we from the hotel? B：You're staying at NEW CENTURY GRAND HOTEL,It is in the south of the city and it'll take 20 minutes to get there by car.

(Arrive at the hotel.)

B：Here we are.We'll have to check in first.This way please.

Z： Good afternoon. Welcome to NEW CENTURY GRAND HOTEL . Can I help you, madam?

B：Yes.I'm Bai Yang from I Bag's CO.Ltd.I've reserved two single rooms

for our guest.(To the Americans)Do you have any preferences for the room? L：Be full of sunshine and be quite,please.

B：(To Miss Sang)And you?

S：The same for me.And if possible,make it on the same floor as hers.

Z：Your preference would be best satisfied if you had given it to us when you made the reservation,but I'll try my best.

(During the checking.)

B：This hotel is an international 5-star hotel,and adopts international standard price.

L：By the way,how is the room? Z：All the room has TV, the air conditioner, free internet access and breakfast. Oh, excuse me,the dinning room locates at 6th floor, between 7am to 9am. L：Fantastic!

(After checking through the computer) Z：I'm sorry but please show your ID，just like driver's license, passport or ID card.

L,S：Here you are.

Z：Your room numbers are 2021 and 2022,they all face south and are also

very quite. Here are your keys. The porter will show you to your rooms. I hope you will enjoy your stay. L,S,B：Thank you so much。

Z：You are welcome.Now,would you please fill out this form?

(The Americans have finished the registration.)

Z：I'll get a porter for you.(To a porter)Excuse me,would you please send their baggage to the twentieth floor? B：Let's take the lift over there. (After getting their baggage in their rooms)

B：What do you have in mind for this afternoon?

S：I'm afraid I have to take a nap,because my biological clock is still sleeping. B：Okay.What about you,Miss Lou? L：No part of my body is sleeping,but I have some work to finish.

B：So,all of you will stay in the hotel.Okay, as for this evening,we'll hold a dinner in your honor at Xiangyang Restaurant.

L：That's very kind of you. B：Is 6 o'clock convenient for you? L：Yes.In fact,any time will do. B：Very good.I'll come back at six and meet you in the hotel lobby.

(Miss Lou and Miss Sang are invited to a dinner at Xiangyang Restaurant.) H：Good evening,Miss Lou. L：(Shaking

H：My pleasure.Now that everybody is here,shall we sit down and talk? (They all take seats.)

Z：Excuse me.What would you like to drink?We

juice,coke and lemonade. L：Lemonade for me,please. S：Tea,please.

(Everyone else orders her drink.) H：(To Miss Lou)I know you've had Chinese food before, but I had to look all over town to find an authentic seafood restaurant. I'm hoping this experience will be new and different for you. Z:That's called tie ban niu rou.

L: It all looks delicious! I love the way they've stacked the dishes in the middle of the table. Why is the dish making all the noise?

Z: It's basically strips of beef with onion, but it's poured onto a heated iron dish, which acts as a grill. That's why it's sizzling; it's literally cooking at the

table.

S: So I guess we can be sure it's hot. What's this dish here? Looks like a salad or something!

Z: That's cold dish. We call it “Tiger Food.” It's green pepper, cilantro, and cucumbers. I suppose we could consider that an appetizer. S: Is it hot? H: Hot? It's cold. S: I meant spicy-hot.

B: It's a little hot, but not too bad. For really hot, you should try the noodle dish in front of you. It's called “Ants Climbing a Tree.”

L: What a funny name! I guess those little bits of pork are the ants. So what do Chinese people eat for dessert? H: We don't have dessert. We end our meal with some sort of staple food like rice or noodles. But I think if you are hungry for something sweet at the end of the meal, you can try some of these steamed buns. They've been fried just enough to be crispy and golden. You dip them into this sweetened condensed milk. S: This food is just great! I don't know how you manage to maintain a healthy weight with all this good food!

(All laughing)

H：I'm glad to hear that.Tomorrow Miss Bai will take you to Chenghuangmiao,and I hope you all have a good time there. L：I'm sure we will.Thank you. H：I'll see you again for the negotiation the day after tomorrow,right? L：Yes.
