A lesson plan for “Unit 3 Look at me!”

Title: Unit 3 look at me! Students: Class1 Grade3 Duration: 30mins

Type: A new lesson for new words

Teaching objects:

By the end of this class, students will be able to: Ⅰ Language aims:

1. Understand the meaning of the new words:eye, ear, nose, face, mouth. 2. Master the sentence “This is my...” and use this sentence to describe their looks. Ⅱ Skill aims:

1.Read and recognize the new words.

2.Know how to introduce themselves with new sentence in proper situation.

Ⅲ Emotion aims:

1.Realize the importance of protecting our five sense organs

2.Get acquaintance of some special days of protecting our five sense organs.

3.Cultivate students’ cooperation spirit.

Teaching focus:

1.Students are able to understand the meaning of the new words:eye, ear, nose, face, mouth.

2.Students can master the sentence “This is my...” and use this sentence to describe their looks.

Teaching difficulties:

1. Help students distinguish between eye and ear. 2. Read “mouth ” correctly.

Teaching procedure:

Ⅰ.Presentation: Guessing game:

There are five characters that students need to find out who are they. Some tips which help them to guess will be showed one by one. The new words are hidden in the tips.

T: Yesterday I ask you to preview this lesson. Can anybody tell me the tittle of unit 3? S1: Look at me.

T: Great! Can you tell me what does “Look at me”mean? S2: 看着我。

T: Well done! Today I bring some friends here. Please look who are they. Then 4 tips will be showed on PPT:

Ss: 小黄人!

T: Yes! He’s my friend. Wow! His eye is big! Do you know “eye”? Students have previewed, so some of them can answer: Ss:”眼睛”

T: Yes! Can you read it? S3: eye.

T: Wonderful! Please read after him/her.

After they read, pick some students to check. Then move to next step.

T: You’ve found one of my friends. Please try the second one.

Ss: Mickey!

T: Wow! You did it again.So clever! Please look at the picture. Can you tell me what does ear mean? S5:耳朵。

T: Well done. Who can read it? S6: ear.

T: Good job. Please read after him/ her.

Pick some students to check. Ask them to discuss with their partners how to distinguish and remember “ear” and “eye”. Then let students

talk about their ideas.

Flash some pictures of ear and eye for students to practice.

T: Another friend comes.

Ss: 匹诺曹!

T:Good! Look, his nose is long. Can you guess what does it mean? Ss: 鼻子。 T: Clever!

Let one students read it and then all students read after him/ her. And then play a game: Teacher show her fingers to let students to read. If a group doesn’t follow teacher’s order, it lose.

Practice the new word “face” at the same way.

T: The last friend comes!

Ss: 史莱克!

T: Yes, he’s Mr.Shrek. His mouth is so big. Do you know what dose “mouth”mean? S7: 嘴巴。

T: Well done! Can you read it? S7: Mouth.

Let students read after him/her. It’s a difficult word for students, so make students practice with their partners. Then some group are required to show.

Ⅱ. Practice

1. Read and point.

Listen to what teacher say and point to the right words. Then teacher show a right card to help students check whether they are right or wrong.

2.Do the actions:

Teacher say and students do the actions: Open your mouth. Close your eyes. Touch your ear. Touch your nose. Touch your face.

When students are familiar with the new words. Let a student act like a teacher to give the order.(Here will be a competition among groups.)

3. Find difference.

There are two pictures each group. Students are require to find out what are different. This is app to help them recognize the new words. Here will have a competition among groups.

T: Please find out what’s different in these two pictures. You are the first one, please.

S8: Mouth.

T: Is he/she right? Ss: Yes.

T: Great! Group XX can get 2 points.

The pictures left will be showed at the same way.

Ⅲ. Production:

Students are required to introduce themselves by this pattern:

I'm ... I like ...

This is my ... This is my ...

T: We’ve learned our body. Now, please talk about yourself. (Teacher talk about herself first.)

Four groups will be invited to show to the class.

Ⅳ.Summary

1.Students are required to judge what people do in the pictures

are right or wrong.

T:Please look at the pictures and tell right or wrong.

(After student finish this part.)

T: Yes! We should take care of our body. There are some special days to protect our sense organs. Do you know them?

Ⅴ. Homework:

1. Introduce yourself to your classmates.

2. Listen to the tape and follow.
