accommodate with axial movement the ink feed tube 15 of a writing unit 5, such as a ball-point pen. The writing unit 5 may be projected and retracted into and from the writingposition by a conventional mechanism including a clip 19. The power source for the bulb 8comprises two dry cells 4 in series, spring biased by a spring 14 towards the rear of thepen. A push-button 10, when depressed, is latched into a forward position so that thecontact 14 of the cell 4 makes contact with a member 6 to complete the circuit to thebulb 8. The next depression of the button 10 releases the latching mechanism, of brownconstruction, thereby breaking the circuit.
