Xiangsha Bay is called "brymanha" in Mongolian, which means "sand dune withtrumpet". It is located in the eastern end of Kubuqi Desert in Dalate Banner,Inner Mongolia, 50 kilometers away from grassland steel city in the north. Thetall sand dunes are crescent shaped, about 80 meters high, spanning severalkilometers. The golden sand slope is hidden under the blue sky and white clouds. There is a magnificent scene of vast sand sea into the sky, like a goldenWolong.
The desert area of Xiangsha Bay is about 16000 square kilometers, and theslope is about 50 degrees. There is no vegetation on it. If you slide down fromthe top of the sand dune, you will hear the sound of "buzzing". The miracle ofthe sound of sand in Xiangsha Bay is still a mystery. For a hundred years, people can not explain the cause of the sound of sand, but give it manybeautiful legends. It is said that a long time ago, this is a large-scale LamaTemple. When more than a thousand lamas gathered to chant sutras and beat drumsand trumpets, suddenly the wind blew violently. In a moment, they buried thetemple in the desert. This sound is the sound that lamas are still beating drumsand trumpets. The legend is beautiful, but it can't reveal the mystery of thesand. In recent years, scholars have put forward "topographical theory","resonance box principle" and "electrostatic theory" to reveal its causes. Somepeople think that the sand dune in Xiangshawan contains more gold, so it makes asound; others think that the sand on the surface of the desert is fine and dry, which is the reason for the sound.
However, no explanation can completely solve the mystery of XiangshaBay.
